Next year I'll be working with flautist, long-time friend and Cornish lady, Tammy Cazaux, on my ReBach project. I'm just managing to catch her for rehearsals between Norway, France and having babies. Tammy and I performed together at St Peter's, Braintree, two years ago. Amongst Poulenc's flute sonata and Debussy, we played two of my ReBach pieces - re-creations of Preludes from Bach's 48 - and they were much appreciated. Tammy and I have always worked well together; we've seen each other through difficult times over the years, and musically we know each other's strengths and weaknesses. Next year we plan to have a few charity concerts lined up.('Arrete d'en parlez et fais-le,' said her French husband Joel; that's something like, 'shut up and get on with it...') One will be at St John's Church, Stratford, London; others to be confirmed. Watch this space.....

Sunset on Brazos Bend

general info

'Sunset on Brazos Bend' is my first album and was written after an emotional crisis road trip from New York to Texas...Heartfelt thanks to my three wonderful children and 'little sis' and Mick. Special thanks to John and Julie - without their TLC and expertise 'Brazos Bend' wouldn't exist. This one is my life and my healing.

The soul of the piano is at the heart of all that I write. The music and the medium through which the music is created should, I feel, aim to be one...I try to allow a sense of elasticity - that the creation is happening now not a package from 'then'... Presence in it's fullest emotional and spontaneous sense then has a chance to come across...

Shades of all musicians and composers that have inspired me, sometimes foregrounded, sometimes mingled, lie in 'Brazos'. It's all wrapped up in a Celtic nuance, sometimes more classical, sometimes more jazz, always romantic and ambient.....
